I really don’t have much to say today, well to write…I haven’t read much this week either. The lack of reading and the lack of writing are probably related.
It was also a heavy week in the news. There were two devastating acts of violence in Australia and some news that came as such a relief relating to the Lehrmann judgement. I’m not going to link to anything because my Australian readers will know what I am talking about and I’m sure the international readers can do a quick google search for more information. I’d rather share a well researched and thoughtful piece in a week or two, rather than another reactionary news update.
I was also feeling a little bit low not being able to climb or do vinyasa or even meditate very comfortably for a couple of weeks when we returned from our Moonaire climbing trip with my sprained knee and ankle. There is no denying it, physical activity you enjoy is good for you, mentally and physically. My morning yoga and mid-week gym climb get me through my week.
So in this issue of Between a Rock and a Hard Pose I am going to keep it light with a short yoga update and preview my new, cute rock climbing related newsletter section dividers. I’m leaning towards the navy, what do you think? See below ⤵︎
On Friday evening I taught a lovely Yin by Candlelight Yoga Class at Jeeva yoga Studio. This was the first of a series of Yin by Candlelight I will be teaching on the last Friday of every month during the cooler months here in Adelaide (April to August).
I made it to an Unwind and Restore this morning and bumped into a few students who attended Yin by Candlelight and it was really great to hear how well they slept after the class and how they have felt the benefits since. After a pretty tough start to the year at work, it has been really rewarding to teach yoga regularly again and see the difference a regular yoga practice makes for students.
And that brings me to some exciting news, from May I will be teaching Saturday mornings at Jeeva! Join me at 8am for an all levels Vinyasa class. If you haven’t joined me to a class at Jeeva yet,, new students can currently access a special discount on the new student intro pass. For just $20 enjoy unlimited yoga for 2 weeks, usually $35!

Reading not much…but I did enjoy picking up Wifedom again and reading a few pages over coffee before my yoga class this morning. I think it’s time to start getting into bed sooner and reading before lights out.
Watching Bri Lee! On Tuesday night I drove across town to see Bri Lee interviewed about her debut novel The Work. She was sharp and funny.
Listening to Taylor Swift’s new album, I’m a little disappointed. Also 31 songs is a lot! I am enjoying the Florence Swift collaboration though Florida!!!
Haha, I am a red fan so the red is my vote!
April has been a bad reading month for me too, just about managing a page of Tom Lake before classes in the mornings.
these section dividers are cute - navy it is for me
